Mammaplasty – ReductionLarge Breasts – Mammary Hypertrophy Women who have large breasts could experience a series of problems due to the weight and size of the breasts, like back, neck, and shoulder pains, and skin irritation. Breast reduction is done to relieve these symptoms as well as to improve the appearance of the breasts. Some young girls suffer excessive breast growth which is called pubertal gigantomastia and can require a breast reduction surgery. AnesthesiaFor a breast reduction procedure we use general anesthesia. This requires the services of an expert anesthetist. Surgical ProcessUntil recently the breast reduction technique left a scar in the shape of an upside-down T which made the result unattractive in comparison with the shape of the breast. Nowadays, we use a technique which leaves only one vertical scar, eliminating the horizontal scar under the breast. The breasts return to their natural position, the shape is excellent and there is only one vertical scar which is practically invisible. Only in very large breasts where a large volume breast reduction is needed is it necessary to make a T shaped scar. Pre-OperationThe pre-operation, medical photographs taken will show your breasts with all details. They will help us evaluate and study before, during, and after the operation. |
